Mountain biking enthusiasts are set to rejoice as the fully expanded Mogo Trails network, a project four years in the making, prepares to open its impressive 125 kilometres of trails this Saturday, 10 May. The opening of the new eastern trails, the skills park, and particularly the challenging ‘Burnaaga’ trail on Mount Wandera, marks a significant milestone.
Burnaaga – The Goanna – is finally ready to be unleashed, opening on 10 May 2025.
This isn’t just a trail; it’s a 29km, 962-vertical-meter descent into the soul of this land, a 406vm climb that will test your mettle, a true wilderness adventure. From the breathtaking summit of Mt Wandera, the Burnaaga trail is a promise of epic flow and raw beauty that culminates in the welcoming embrace of Mogo Town. This exposed adventure demands respect; rated as a blue track it’s for the highly experienced, the gravity-fueled, the adventure-seekers who understand the call of the wild.
Please be mindful:
- Burnaaga can be accessed via the new shuttle service – info and booking here – this is the launch schedule; more frequent shuttles to Mt Wandera and routes in the network are expected to be added in the future.
- Burnaaga is an exposed wilderness adventure trail, starting at Mt Wandera Summit and finishing in Mogo Town.
- The trail is rated blue and is recommended for highly experienced gravity and adventure riders only.
- You must carry spare parts and snake bandages are recommended.
- Protective gear is recommended.
- You must carry enough water / hydration for the entire trip back to Mogo.
- Mobile reception is available on the majority of the trail (depending on your mobile phone carrier).
